L'Oreal Micellar Water

Image
Packaging: Long, round faint blue plastic bottle with a baby blue metabolised snap shut lid. There's simple and little text in the front so you can actually see the product inside. The backside has a picture user guide and ingredient list. The spout opening is standard size but surprisingly dispenses a decent amount. Smell: None. Colour: Clear. Formula/ Texture: With 95% purified water that is non rising and hypoallergenic formula. It has only 7 ingredients with water the main one. It's suited for normal, combo and sensitive skin types. It can be used on the face, eyes and lips making it handy and versatile. No rubbing required, stinging or redness with use of this product. It's fragrance, paraben and alcohol free making it more attractive. After use my skin feels smooth and calm. A little bit of product goes a long way and does a very good job at removing makeup and cleaning the skin. I do go in with a facial cleanser after using any type of ...

L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation

Image
Packaging: Thick, palm sized compact. The bottom is white plastic and the top a chrome purple finish with an Arabian line inspired design for the product details. Underneath contains the shade name and a 3 step pictorial on how to use. There is a full sized mirror on the inside of the lid and a hinged plastic tray that houses a sponge puff and snaps shut to keep the sponge air tight. The foundation is soaked in a sponge that is easily removable from the compact space. Smell/Taste: None. Colour: 01 Porcelain - light beige with warm undertones. Satin finish with light to medium coverage. Available in 6 shades. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin, smooth liquid. This is best applied in a tapping motion to help the product skin into the skin using fingers or the included sponge puff. A beauty sponge will absorb too much product. It does apply with ease. It is easily removed with a basic makeup wipe. It gives such a fresh and luminous look to the skin, mimic...

L'oread Infallible Pro-Contour Palette

Image
Packaging: Vertical rectangle, slim matte black compact. The lid features a small window to see the powder shades which in the empty space behind the lid is a small mirror. The packaging features a sketch face on the window showing the places on the face to highlight and contour as well as white text and a pop of red. It snaps shut securely, with the durable packaging making it great for travel. The powder sits in the one square pan with a triangle for the contour and highlight and a engraved text for the powders specific step. I find this kind of pan format silly cause theres product wastage in the corners where a full sized makeup brush is too small to fit. The included brush has long harsh bristles. They are shaped in a soft 'v' with the intention the hollow middle will fit perfectly over the highpoint of your cheekbone, placing highlight and contour where it needs to go. Smell/Taste: None. Colour: #813 Light Contour - light brown with cool undertones. ...

L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim Liquid Eyeliner

Image
Packaging: Slim shiny black circle tube with gold text/ embellishment. It's length is smaller then palm size and features a matte texture indented portion of the tube right under where the cap sits as a direction of where to hold it. The cap doesn't make and snap or slickly noise when secured as theres no grooves for this to happen so I always double check this prior to leaving it alone. This gets time consuming and not entirely safe for portability. This features a 0.4mm felt tip that is the longest tip from tip to attachment in the pen. It feels lightweight in the hand and is comfortable to hold. Smell/Taste: None. Colour: Intense Black - intense black. Matte finish. Available in one shade. Formula/ Texture: This is a typical liner formula in that it's not too runny or thick. It dries quickly but will transfer within the first 15 seconds. It's extremely  pigmented so the liquid itself isn't streaky. It does require a specific e...

L'Oreal Infallible 24hr-Matte Foundation

Image
Packaging: Hand size length smooth and shiny squeeze tube. The majority of the packing is transparent so you can see how much is left with a tiny portion on the top and bottom a black shade that matches the screw on cap. The tip is short and wide with a  2mm wide opening that provides decent product dispense. Smell: Slight alcohol. Colour: #11 Vanilla - light/medium beige with natural undertones. Demi matte finish with full pigmentation. Available in 5 colours #slack. All appear to run more pink undertoned. Formula/ Texture: This is a tick and smooth consistency. It's thicker then Maybelline's Fit Me! Matte & Powerless Foundation. It's easy to apply any way and does need to be applied in sections for the most flawless look. It does take a deep makeup remove to properly remove this. It surprisingly feels lightweight and doesn't cake but settles into laugh lines (like around the mouth). It does create an overall smooth finish, eve...

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Mattifying Primer

Smell: Silicone. Colour: Transparent. Formula/ Texture: This is a think, slippery velvet gel. It take a few minutes to absorb into the skin otherwise it can just rub off. I'm not a fan of this but I jumble my makeup routine to fit it in. I've found it best applied with fingers starting in the centre of the face working outwards. I do fell it 'sitting' on top of my skin. It is non comedogenic which it hasn't clogged my pores and broken me out nor has it caused any irritations. The purpose is to help extend makeup wear which this does by upto 4hrs. It also matinees the skin for oil and shine control. My t-zone is my most shines...

L'Oreal Colour Riche Lip Liner Magique

Image
Packaging: Typical pencil lipliner. The semi shiny gold packaging features black text and a clear plastic cap. The end is white to indicate the colour. The tip is quite wide and rounded in a lip liner term. Smell/Taste: None. Colour: Transparent - clear. Only available in this special shade. Formula/ Texture: This is a smooth thin wax. It's lightweight on the lips and glide on easily from the pencil. If in contact with the skin it does leave a matte finish if you look right up close to it. From here it is easy to blend into the skin further. Like with the other transparent lip liners, this has a multi use. It can be used for anti feathering of lip products which is how I'll be using it. Or it can be used as a clean up tool after lip product application to remove product and make the lip colour precise. This does work really well for the first Australian drugstore liner of its kind. Lip colour stays inside the line drawn! Available:...

L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water

Image
Packaging: Reqtangle & slim plastic bottle. The Smell: A bit like alcohol. Colour: Transparent. Formula/ Texture: This is a water. Let me start off my saying that I am so excited this is finally in Australia but this did not work for me. After consecutive use this broke me out in whiteheads - those little under the skin pimples. Which also meant my skin wasn't feeling smooth at all. This isn't something I experienced with Bioderma which has 10 ingredients. L'Oreal has 8. Water & Disodium Edta ingredients in common. The L'Oreal foams up easily in the bottle while the Bioderma takes more work to achieve the same effect. Lets look at the good things about this. It did do a brilliant job at removing my makeup with two cotton rounds too. It didn't dry out my skin or leave it feeling itchy. It was gentle to use on both my eyes and lips removing formulas such as Too Faced Melted lipsticks. It's fragrance and alcohol f...

L'Oreal Carbon Black Super Liner

Image
Packaging: Shiny black tube with the handle of the applicator is tapered towards the end and makes up the majority of the tube. It has a felt tip that is quite flexible. Smell: Fragrance free. Colour: 690 Carbon Black - intense black. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin, runny liquid. It is very easy to apply, with the handle. As the felt tip itself is slightly longer then others I've tried, I do find that I didn't have as much control as the tip really slid over the eye. If the tip was firmer or shorter this would be avoided. The harder you press the thicker the line is. It is apparently created with pigmentation that provides 2x more intense black which I really didn't get that, especially compared to other eyeliners I've tried. The black could be more intense for the claim that's being made. I found this to have a 6 - 8hr wear which isn't the longest wear time that I've experienced and made me a little disappointed. I...

L'Oreal Color Riche Extraordinaire Lipgloss

Image
Packaging: Gold shiny square tube. Portion of the tube has a fake colour window that's painted on and doesn't show the actual product. It does somewhat accurately represents a shade chosen. I hate that the name of the lip product isn't anywhere on the tube just the shade name. It has a wide opening for a flat and thin, bent doe foot applicator. I do find this dispenses more product over a wider area on the lips. It might be too long for those with thin lips. Smell/Taste: Peaches. Colour: 101 Rose Mauve - nude pink with micro shimmer. Medium coverage with a shiny finish. Formula/ Texture: This is a smooth, thick liquid. It feels tacky immediately on the lips but with the body's heat it emulsifies and becomes more slippery and easy to move around the lips. This does mean it takes a little to work the product on for even colour. Due the shine, this does transfer and means it doesn't last a long time. I can get about 2hrs wear and I...

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

Image
Packaging: Matte black slim tube with good text and cap. The wand is a wire bristle brush that has full even length brissles that taper quickly to the tip which I would call a classic wand shape. Smell: Wax. Colour: 335 Carbon Black Formula/ Texture: This is a slick and thin consistency. It's easily removed with a basic makeup wipe however I do find there is some black residue left below the lower lashes that takes further removal to be totally removed. I did find some smudging on my  lower lashes. This was  applying  mascara  lightly  both after and before the use of  makeup setting spray. Personally I  don't  have time with  smudges or checking throughout the day and removing this . Using a setting spray after application is the best method to reduce any smudges. I also get some tiny transfer on my lid from my top lashes. Waiting a  minute  for this to dry avoids this. There is no ...

L'Oreal Lash Architect Midnight Black Mascara

Image
Packaging: Basic plastic tube with silver text. One disappointment is that the writing that you can see on the tube rubbed away after a good 2 weeks of use. Just made the product feel cheap to me. The wand was wire bristles and typical mascara thinly shaped. Smell: Plastic. Colour: Midnight Black. Opaque pigmentation. Texture/ Formula: The formula was very runny. It didn't flake or make my lashes stiff. It wasn't a problem to remove. It was also easier to apply too. There was no false lash effect or much of volume, curl and length that was claimed it would deliver. My lashes were limp, looking like they had no mascara on when I am after volume. It is disappointing.  I found this mascara to be ok. I enjoyed it more than the 4D mascara but would not recommend this. Those who like wet mascaras will pr...

L'Oreal Lash Architect 4D Mascara

Image
Packaging: The tube is this silver shiny tube. It's not the usual square or round tube it's more angular with different sides and angles. The wand has plastic bristles and is supposed to be shaped like it shows on the side of the packet- in a angular slight twirl shape tapering towards the tip. Smell: Plastic. Colour: Brown. Opaque pigmentation. Available in 2 shades. Texture/ Formula: This is a dry mascara. I was able to feel it on my lashes. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of the brush. It didn't have enough length in the bristles to fully coat the lashes. L'Oreal say that the brush is architectural to help create the ultimate 'false eyelash' look. I can say the bristles are evenly placed but too short on the twirl shape. I didn't experience any flaking though. The formula made my lashes clump together so I brus...

L'Oreal Contour Kohl Pencil Eyeliner

Image
Packaging: The colour of the pencil corresponds with the outside colour packaging. At the end of the pencil the shade name and number are printed. What I like also about these pencils is a grey cap is included for the tip. Smell: Like wax if you hold it right up to your nose. Colour: 138 Blue Denim and 153 Pure White. Both shades are a true colour to their shade name, are opaque  pigmentation with a matte finish. I have re-purchased the white shade many times as I like it for my lower waterline. Available in 6 shades (white, black, sliver, grey, brown & navy). Texture/ Formula: The wax is soft and smooth. It has a longevity of 8hrs. The pencil doesn't break off into a clump like a cheaper made pencil would. I've had no eye irritation or transferring or smudging. A dark colour will transfer a bit if placed in the waterline. Easy to remove with a basic makeup wipe. Also easy to sharpen...

L'Oreal True Match Mineral Powder Foundation

Image
Packaging: The mineral foundation is in two parts the first part is the lid. This has a built in kabuki brush which I've found to be a little scratchy. It is protected by a clear lid which is a hassle to remove when using it in a rush as it's a lot of fiddling. The second part is the bottom half which houses the mineral pigments. It has a sifter built in to control the flow of the pigments which can spill and make a mess if the container is tapped hard. Smell: None. Colour: W1 Golden Ivory - tan colour with yellow undertones. Light to medium  coverage  with a matte finish. Available in 5 other shades. Texture/Formula: This is a fine and smooth powder. It can be felt on the skin. It's  safe for sensitive skin and won’t clog pores. I haven't experienced any skin  irritation  either. Its easy to  remove  with a  basic  makeup wipe. It doesn't need to be set with a powder at all.  Using a primer, i t has great longevity ...

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara

Image
Packaging: The tube is a shiny gold tube. The selling point of this mascara is the millionizer brush with plastic  Elastomer Bristles. The brush applicator is really flexible compared to other mascaras and has  3 times more bristles. Smell: A faint plastic smell. Colour: Black.  Opaque pigmentation.  Available in 3 shades. Texture/Formula: It's a very wet and slippery mascara. It doesn't crisp my lashes but I can feel the mascara on my lashes. It does take a little effort to remove with basic makeup wipes. Unfortunately all it does is clump my lashes into spokes, nothing natural or defined. I'd agree that the  Anti-Clump wiper does remove excess mascara. The wet formula is what is clumping my lashes together and makes my lashes look horrible. I couldn't wear it for more than 4 days it was that bad. It is a great definition mascara for hose with naturally longer lashes. Available: From Priceline, pharmacies and discount department sto...

L'Oreal Glam Shine 6hr Gloss

Image
Im on the search for a natural, nudeish looking lipgloss or lipstick that I can apply with any look, anywhere and it can look good and I wont need a mirror to apply it. My search started with this L'Oreal gloss as I thought it was the natural looking gloss out of the whole range. Packaging: The whole tube is hard plastic, with the built in doe-foot applicator at the end of the wand. However this doe foot is shaped in a way that I've never seen before. The actual doe-foot is tear drop shaped with the pointy end at the tip. And there is a hole in the middle of the applicator. Im not sure if this is to grab less or more product or to help with getting it in and out of the tube but it's the first I've seen. I haven't seen a difference in the application of the gloss.  Another thing is the nozzle/opening of the tube, it's very large. Maybe this is to accommodate the larger shaped doe foot but the plastic stopper must be tapered at the end becaus...

L'Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation

Image
The only reason I purchased this foundation apart from needing a lighter shade of foundation for winter is that it was from the True Match range which claims to blend seemingly with your skin so that the colour matches your skin tone. Packaging: The bottle is glass with a plastic lid. The lid reveals a grey plastic pump that  distributes  an  adequate  amount of  product . I haven't experienced any clogging from it but if not wipped carefully foundation can dry around the nozzle. Even though the bottle is glass the level of foundation doesn't go down when you use it. It's a little  annoying  as it's hard to judge based on weight of the bottle how much is left. Smell: Only when I sniff it right under my nose and this is a faint plastic smell. Colour: W1 Golden Ivory - light to medium that is very yellow undertoned. Medium  coverage that is buildable but then starts to look cakey with a satin finish.  Avail...

L'Oreal Touche Magique Concealer

Image
I wasn't aware of this product until I had watched a couple of videos on YouTube about it. When it was mentioned that the Touche Magique was very comparable in terms of product benefits to the YSL's Touche Eclat, I thought that it would defiantly be something worth a try. YSL's concealer retails for $55 here in Australia, which is pretty expensive for the amount of product you get but when I have a spare $55 lying around I might just take the plunge and get it *cough*. When I actually went to get L'Oreal's Touche Magique I had some trouble trying to find it to be honest, which can explain why I hadn't noticed it before. Packaging: It comes in a sleek pen like form with twist bit at the bottom that allows the product to come out at the top. The applicator is  a soft brush which allows precise and controlled application. Smell: None. Colour: C3-5 Rose Beige. Medium coverage with a natural finish. I got a shade darker than I thought ...
