Manicare Polish Remover Pads

Image
Packaging: Small thin round white plastic container that has a twist off lid and blue and red colours on the lid. It's very durable and portable. Admittedly the packaging is quite basic but it suits the product very well. I find the lid to screw on nice and tight and flush. Smell: Floral. Colour: N/A. Formula/ Texture: These pads are very thin but feel like they hold a decent amount of product. In the tests I did with these, I always had on a base coat, two colour coats and seche vite top coat. Removing both hands took me through 3 entire pads compared to two soaked cotton balls. The third pad was a clean up and removed the tiny last traces of polish. They were defiantly easier to move around the nail and required less effort to remove darker colours but nothing considerable. Lighter colours will only need two pads. My nails were never left feeling dry, or greasy or with any residue on them. Nor have my nails felt more brittle or started to split...

Manicare Disposable Mascara Brushes

Packaging: Plastic soft case with zip lock closure. The plastic is easily seen through to show how many wands are left. Very travel friendly. Results: Each mascara wand is a wire bristle with a thin plastic covered handle. What differentiates each effect is the colour & wand shape to corresponding effect. Blue- Volume Lays on thick coat of mascara. It does a good job of separating the lashes & that's due to the thick brush. Purple- Definition Gets into corners of eye as well as bottom lashes. The wand is very short and small. Red- Curl Contours around the eye shape and helps the lashes curl. The wand has a 'C' shaped curve to it. Organe- Length Hourglass shape bristles separates each lash. This wand is very thin and long. Available: I do believe from memory these are quite expensive for what they are (disposable mascara wands) mixed 20pk from Priceline, pharmacies and discount department stores for $10.

Manicare Crystal Nail File

Image
I was sick of the rough nail files always wearing down and becoming less effective.   What is it?: Genuine european crystal file that is hand cut into shape. This can be used in natural and artificial nails which is great versatility depending on the mood and occasion that life throws at you. When you feel the roughness of the file fade, you wash it regularly in warm soapy water and leap in the protective suede pouch (which easily identifies it).  The file can be sterilised in hot water or UV light. This file has a frosted clear tip and royal blue rounded end which you use to hold. Results: I really like this nail file. It is a staple in my nail kit. The roughness of the file lasts, I wanna say forever but I'm not going to live that long!! I am defiantly recommending glass nail files as the roughness of the file lasts and will always be the same coursness throughout the life of the file unlike the emery boards you can buy for very cheap :) Availabl...

Manicare Precision Blending Sponge

Image
I want the most convert makeup tool in the beauty industry, the Beauty Blender, but like with most great things it's only available online on websites that ship to Australia. I saw this blending sponge by Manicare and thought that it was shaped similar and would be worth a try. Packaging: Purple palm sized hourglass egged shaped latex sponge. It has a wide flat bottom that enables the sponge to sit upright. It has a pointed tip at the top of the sponge. Texture: A suede feeling sponge, that is springy but doesn't really have a lot of give. It doesn't have that nice soft bounce on he skin. The pointed tip is for concealing blemishes, around the nose and roll under the eyes. The rounded corners near the hourglass shape is for larger areas on the face. The flat bottom is for blending, stippling and rolling on liquids. It's made for a flawless application of foundation, concealer, blush etc. The shape of the sponge is to minimise streaks, is gentle under...

Priceline Haul - February 2011

Just a few things that I wanted for so long and they were on sale!! Australis  Makeup Finishing Spritz I wanted this to set my makeup. To see if it does make a difference. $15 on sale for $11.46 Manicare Crystal Nail File Arghh Im so sick of those normal emery boards as they loose their harshness very quickly for me and then my nails don't get a good file after a few months. Anyway I thought a nail file like this one which never looses its grainy texture on the nails. $16 on sale for $13.16. Neutrogena Healthy Defense Moisturiser with SPF 30 I needed a new moisturiser and Neutrogena works well for me. I want to be anti-aging and future focused and I know that applying sunscreen daily not only helps prevent wrinkles but also helps lower the risk of sunburn and cancer. I feel that normal sunscreen is too thick, smelly and sticky for me and that this moisturiser would be a good way of combining the two so that it's one less step but it doesn't become...
