Re-review: Benefit Hoola Box o' Powder

Image
A while back I did a review on Benefit's Hoola Boxed Powder. I received a sample and didn't like it, it was too muddy for me. Well this is a first segment, where I am doing a re-review. Colour: Medium brown with warm undertones. Sheer pigmentation with a matte finish. Formula/ Texture: Smooth but a little stiff as it's dry. It's easy to apply, though I haven't tried it with the small sample square thin brush you see above that was included. I found it to be long wearing too, lasting an average 10hr day by the time I take it off. Just a caution that you have to be careful with applying this as too much product can give a muddy brown look. I honestly didn't expect to like it. It gives you this nice warm bronzed look. I found it very comparable with Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, I think Too Faced is more long wearing and you can't beat the sweet yummy chocolate smell :) I would recommend this bronzer for contouring. Benefit Hoola Box o' Powder Blush

Packaging: The full sized product comes in the same design all over the box as this sample shows. The use of bamboo relates to Hawaii where everything relates to the beach and a relaxing approach to life. Smell: No. Colour: Medium brown with orange undertones. Sheer pigmentation with a matte finish. Almost came of muddy on me, which was disappointing. Texture/ Formula: I know the full sized boxed powders have a velvety texture with various finishes and this sample is the variety.  I do think that this is one of those colours where it works for you or it doesn't. I think if your more on the fair/asian side then it may come off looking a little muddy and patchy on the face. However if your the opposite and more tanned then I think this might be a favourite. Though keep in mind this is my opinion bas...

Benefit Box o' Powders

Thrrrob "turned on" face powder. P ackaging: Like with all Benefit's products the packaging matches the product name and function. Here is no different. Seeing as though this powder blush is supposed to stimulate the same kind of natural blush you get when your heart races whether this is due to seeing a crush or running a marathon or becoming embarrassed, Benefit has decided to take the most appealing option (love). To emphasise this sexy aspect the lid of the blush has the back of a red corset with pink ribbon. The print on the bottom half of the product is fishnet stockings being worn so that you can see someones leg (see photos).  This is a 12.0g net wt 0.42 powder. Smell: It has a unique smell to it, however I can't quite put my finger on what it smells like. It reminds me of a rosey fragrance. Texture: Looking at the texture in the box after a few uses, the powder on the surface looks grainy. As of random small parts of...
