Benefit Box o' Powders
Thrrrob
"turned on" face powder.

Packaging:
Like with all Benefit's products the packaging matches the product name and function. Here is no different. Seeing as though this powder blush is supposed to stimulate the same kind of natural blush you get when your heart races whether this is due to seeing a crush or running a marathon or becoming embarrassed, Benefit has decided to take the most appealing option (love). To emphasise this sexy aspect the lid of the blush has the back of a red corset with pink ribbon. The print on the bottom half of the product is fishnet stockings being worn so that you can see someones leg (see photos). This is a 12.0g net wt 0.42 powder.

Smell:
It has a unique smell to it, however I can't quite put my finger on what it smells like. It reminds me of a rosey fragrance.
Texture:
Looking at the texture in the box after a few uses, the powder on the surface looks grainy. As of random small parts of the powder haven't quite separated properly went it was put into the box, im not sure the picture quite shows it. It hasn't seemed to have affected the quality of the product and its nothing that wont break up with a few sweeps of a brush. It just makes me think that the powder isn't perhaps "fresh" and that maybe these actually have an earlier expiry date than usual.
Other than that the powder its self is very fine and feels silky and smooth when rubbed between fingers.
Colour:
When swatched on the finger its a nice sheer baby pink which is buildable to a baby pink colour. There is obvious silver glitter particles in it, meaning that you don't have to look closely to see them, which can create some application problems. Swatched on the hand and you can defiently see the glitter particles in the area where it's applied and the colour is most defiently sheer cause you can't see any pink at all! On the face is applied with a heavy hand or too many layers the glitter spreads to the whole cheek area making you look like a disco ball.
Benefit advertise thrrrob as a powder that recreates the flirty flush you get when your heart races (embarrassment, running, moment of pulse-racing) and I tested this out at it defiantly does that. Must be some sort if technology or maybe its what normal blush does and Benefit is captivating on it??
Recommended?:
For the colour that you see in the box-no prehaps it might show up on pale skin.
For the 'turned on' aspect-can work as wearing no makeup look for everyday but without creating that natural colour unless your pulse starts racing, however I wont be purchasing it again. It might be a nice body sparklier/highlighter :) This is the one I reach for the second least.

a "just peachy" face powder

Packaging:
The packaging isn't as cute, or doesn't strike me as inventive as other powders. Im not quite getting the correlation of the peach on the front to the name georgia. Is it that the state Georgia in America is known for their peaches? Or that the landscape in Georgia has orange/yellow hues? I did some research and my first guess is correct. See I didn't now this and now it makes sense. This is a 11.0g net wt 0.4 powder

Texture/Colour:
The powder its self is very fine and feels silky and smooth when rubbed between fingers. The colour is the major fail in this powder for me. In the box it looks like a colour that would give a nice natural warm peachy/golden flush to the cheeks. Swatched on the finger and can see the orange pigment but on the back of the hand and face, the powder losses its pigmentation and what's left is a silvery sheen from the glitter particles in it. I don't know who this powder will suit as a blush. I don't see a "warm and vibrant complexion" it claims to be. (pic: 1= one swatch, 2= two swatches built up).
Recommended?:
As a blush? NO
Can defiantly use this as a body shimmer though, better than thrrrob.
This powder is the one that I reach for the least.
Dandelion
pink perk-me-up face powder

Packaging:
As the pictures above demonstrate, the name of the powder "Dandelion" is what is depicted by the picture on the front cover of the box. However im not getting the connection between the name and the colour of the powder. The only connection I see and can give props to the marketing people is that a dandelion is a delicate plant/weed and it doesn't take much blush to get a nice pinky glow on the cheeks. Even so the green box and pink dandelion go quite well. This is a 10.0g net wt 0.35 powder
Smell:

Texture/ Colour:
Dandelion is one of those colours that you can apply and not have to worry if it clashes with eye makeup/lip product colours. The powder its self is very fine and feels silky and smooth when rubbed between fingers. Swatched on the finger and the hand, the colour gives a nice pink with a hint of peach colour. Again Dandelion has silver glitter particles but these are small and gives a nice hint of glow and does have a brightening effect. Which apparently is a celeb favourite.
Recommended?:
Yes. I think this is a nice instant pink blush that gives the most natural look and suits everyone and everything. This is in my top 3 that I reach for.
bronzing & highlighting face powder duo

Packaging:
Alright maybe it's because Im not American but I don't get the marketing connection between the name of the blush "10", the colour duo and the picture on the lid. This powder is all about doing the 'sexy sweep' of a highlighter and bronzer in the one go and not having to worry about applying another product. The lid has a cartoon picture of a stomach, has that got to do with the idea that in the warmer months, you're more bronzed up and your face has a highlight as compared to in winter? I know that it's got relevance to the quality of the product but for me it helps me understand the product better. This is a 10.0g net wt 0.35 powder.

Texture/ Colour:
In the picture above bottom left, the bronze colour is on the right finger and the highlighter on the left one. The powder its self is very fine and feels silky and smooth when rubbed between fingers. The highlight colour is a satiny pink powder. I tend to use this by itself and it gives a nice satiny finish with hardly any glitter/shimmer pigments so it wont fly across the face. The bronze colour is like a muddy brown with hardly any glitter/shimmer pigments in it. I found that it doesn't work too well on the face in winter but might complement a more tanner complexion. It's not bad to contour with, providing im contouring correctly :)
Recommended?:
Nope, I would only recommend it for the highlighter and if thats the case I think there's a better highlighter out there for roughly the same price. Thus this is my third least reached for powder.Sugarbomb
"sugar rush flush" face powder

Packaging:
I like this packaging of the box from the metallic finish on the box to the intertwine of sweet sugar related liquids mixing on the lid- it just makes you interested in the result of it. The incorporation of the black lines on the lid adds mystery into the sweet looking of the product. This is a 12.0g net wt 0.42 powder.

Texture/ Colour:
I LOVE this powder. It gives the nicest buildable glow to the cheeks without being chunky glitter. Its like a peachy version of what a typical bronzer does :) the powder its self is very fine and feels silky and smooth when rubbed between fingers. There is 4 shades, in the picture bottom left, from left to right are soft plum [lilac purple] (4), shimmering pink [golden pink] (3), rose [deep pink] (2) & peach [orange] (1). Swept on together, the colour is amazing, I love the effect it gives a sweet rush of gorgeous. Im sure the colours can be applied individually for 5 blushes for the price of one but there's no glitter in the colour of shimmer which makes it more wearable.
Recommended?:
Yes this is in the top 3 powders I reach for, defiantly a good pick-me up and help boost radiance and get heads turning.
coral blush for a tropical flush

Packaging:
So the lid of Coralista has a tropical theme happening with palm leaves covering what I can make out to be wooden boards. It gives a very holiday/ tropical feel. The bottom however has a pink animal print on it. Like Ive mentioned before its thanks to the marketing team as it all adds to the overall theme and feel of the powder. This is a 12.0g net wt 0.42 powder.

Texture/ Colour:
This gives the prettiest warm coral colour with pink and red undertones. Like with Dallas, there are small fine silver glitter pigments that are able to be seen in the box/on the finger/ on the hand. The powder its self is very fine and feels silky and smooth when rubbed between fingers. It gives a "tropical flush" to the cheeks.
Recommended?:
Yes!
Dallas
an outdoor glow for an indoor gal face powder

Packaging:
Oh no I dropped the box and it hit the side of my table and look what happened to the powder inside!! It all came apart, thats what you get for not being carefull. Dallas has a silhouette of a figure riding a horse which most will associate with cowboys/desert. For me this brings alot of associations such as being hot and dusty, dirty, red, orange and yellow, sunsets. This silhouette on the lid in front of a setting sun with red/pink/ yellow sky matches perfectly with the colour inside and thats what makes this interesting. This is a 12.0g net wt 0.42 powder.

Texture/ Colour:
This bronze colour is much different to the one in the 10 powder. It sits more on the rose brown side. As you can see in the pictures is does swatch very pigmented. You can see tiny silver flecks of glitter in the powder. It gives you a nice bronze colour with a hint of red undertone without being too deep and dark. It's very nice applied lightly. Its easy to blend out too.In the picture bottom right, number 1 has been swatched once and number 2 twice. The powder its self is very fine and feels silky and smooth when rubbed between fingers.
Benefit recommend that it will "give your complexion a natural-looking glow that will leave you looking younger, healthier and more vibrant. This sheer wash of color dusted across your cheeks, forehead and chin gives any complexion a healthy looking radiance... it's a glow that defies even Mother Nature."
Across the forehead! Wouldn't that leave you with a ultra bronzed face and a white neck/body? Perhaps do this with whatever product is left on your brush.
Recommended?:
Yes. Its the fourth least reached for but thats also considering I haven't had a chance to use it in summer yet. *update 23 Jan 2011* its the middle of summer here and this colour looks much better on the cheeks than in winter. It still has the rose brown shade to it but just gives this nice flush of bronze colour.
Final Say
Please look at these yourself and test them out with your skin type and colour even though I haven't experienced any bad reactions to them. All these retail for $51 at Myer or benefitcosmetics.com.
