Manicare Precision Blending Sponge
I want the most convert makeup tool in the beauty industry, the Beauty Blender, but like with most great things it's only available online on websites that ship to Australia. I saw this blending sponge by Manicare and thought that it was shaped similar and would be worth a try.

Available:
From Priceline, pharmacies and discount department stores for $8.
Packaging:
Purple palm sized hourglass egged shaped latex sponge. It has a wide flat bottom that enables the sponge to sit upright. It has a pointed tip at the top of the sponge.
Texture:
A suede feeling sponge, that is springy but doesn't really have a lot of give. It doesn't have that nice soft bounce on he skin.
The pointed tip is for concealing blemishes, around the nose and roll under the eyes. The rounded corners near the hourglass shape is for larger areas on the face. The flat bottom is for blending, stippling and rolling on liquids. It's made for a flawless application of foundation, concealer, blush etc. The shape of the sponge is to minimise streaks, is gentle under the eyes and makes hiding blemishes more easy. In these areas the sponge did ok. I wasn't flawed by the result and found myself using a brush instead.
The only other negative is that it's bloody hard to clean. Specially if you have long-wearing formula products as they tend to 'stain' the sponge and leave the foundation colour on the sponge. When you wet the sponge to clean it I feel as thought it never dries 100% and still feels damp, even leaving it the sun. Now I know damp sponges are houses for bacteria making this sponge have a very short life span. With weekly washing the sponge does start to detoriate.
This is defiantly not a dupe for the Beaty Blender.
