L'Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation

The only reason I purchased this foundation apart from needing a lighter shade of foundation for winter is that it was from the True Match range which claims to blend seemingly with your skin so that the colour matches your skin tone.

Packaging:
The bottle is glass with a plastic lid. The lid reveals a grey plastic pump that distributes an adequate amount of product. I haven't experienced any clogging from it but if not wipped carefully foundation can dry around the nozzle. Even though the bottle is glass the level of foundation doesn't go down when you use it. It's a little annoying as it's hard to judge based on weight of the bottle how much is left.

Smell:
Only when I sniff it right under my nose and this is a faint plastic smell.

Colour:
W1 Golden Ivory - light to medium that is very yellow undertoned. Medium coverage that is buildable but then starts to look cakey with a satin finish. Available in 11 colours.

Texture/Formula:
It's a smooth, fine liquid. The ultra-fine pigments are to perfectly match your skin. When used in small amounts this a fine match for me but I wouldn't say it was a perfect match. Apply too much and this looks horrible and cakey. It's easy to apply and blend with either fringes or a brush. I did notice a slight oxidisation over the course of the day turning a bit darker.

The longevity was below average on my skin, fading by early afternoon and with some shine showing through and this was set with powder. It feels dry on the skin so I notice that I am wearing something but is still easily removable with the a basic makeup wipe.

The formula is oil free and non comedogenic so it won't clog pores. This is what attracted me to try this foundation. The only problem is that it clogged my pores and I experienced small breakouts and the foundation was the only thing that I had changed. It wasn't till I stopped using this that the breakouts lessened. Now this doesn't make any sense and quite disappointing. Researching on the internet and L'Oreal website also told me it is oil free.

This would be a great foundation for dry skin. I do suggest to search reviews on a product to see what others are saying, paying special attention to those who have the same type of skin as you.
