Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

After hearing much talk and hype and love for this product on the internet, I found an Australian makeup internet site: crush cosmetics that sell Urban Decay ordered one of these to try.

Packaging:

Purple hourglass shape tube a silver pointed lid that reminds me of a magic genie lamp and the tops of temples in India with an angled doe foot applicator. The purple paint on the outside I found comes off in flakes with continuous everyday usage. The only downside to this packaging is not being able to get the product from the full container.

You can always cut open the packaging but that risks getting tiny fragments of plastic in the product and causing irritation on the eye. The angled applicator fits well over the eye but I still feel like it doesn't reach all throughout the tube. Again with the covered container, being able to tell how much product is left is hard, unless the tube is cut open.

**Updated 2012 the eyeshadow primer now comes in a squeeze tube with the same lid and 1fl oz more of product**

Smell:

Like a flowerly and plasticy smell.

Colour:

Nude matte that adds no tint/ colour to the eye. Urban Decay also have other shades; nude matte (Eden), yellow based one too (Greed) and champagne shimmer (Sin).

Texture/Formula:
It's a smooth consistency that doesn't dry sticky. As mentioned before the applicator makes apply this a breeze and it dries very quickly on the lids. I do think even oily lids will appreciate this.

This is the first eyeshadow primer I have tried so with a biased view I really like this. The only comparison I have is to bare eyes or foundation. The primer potion does an amazing job of making the eyeshadow pigmentation more intense with no creasing and last literally until you take it off. The bottle itself looks like is going to last a very long time as you need a little bit of product.

So yes I love this product and can see the massive difference it makes. I know Too Faced cosmetics have an eyeshadow primer that is also an highly converted product that I can't wait to compare too.

Available:
Only from Sephora stores, sephora.com for US$20 for a 10ml/0.34 fl.oz.
