MAC Brush Cleanser

I needed a brush cleanser and this was the only one I could find here in Australia. I use it for spot cleaning but once a week I deep clean my brushes with baby hair shampoo.

  

Packaging:

The brush cleaner comes in a clear, flexible, plastic bottle. The lid is a black click open/shut with a pour dispenser. However I feel as though this gives out too much product for one or a couple of brushes and then much is wasted. So I switched out the lid with a spray bottle, I am able to make the cleaner last longer and get the right even amount of product for my brushes.

Smell:

In the bottle it smells like straight vodka but not so much when you spray it.

Colour:
Pink. I think this might just be a colouring factor and nothing to do with the ingredients inside that make it that specific colour and doesn't affect the cleaning agent. However on the brush it's just like a water spray.

Texture/Formula:

This is simply a liquid cleanser. M.A.C suggest that you apply the product on a damp brush, work it through and then rinse out. Then lay the brush flat to dry after reshaping it.

I found another way to make the cleaner last longer is to fold 1-2 squares of paper towels into smaller squares, then spray the paper in spot with the cleaner. Then work the brush in a figure 8 into the cleaner spot, unfold the paper towel to get the brush cleanser on more areas of the paper towel so that you can clean different brushes or still work on the same one.

This is the first brush cleanser that I have tried so, I did enjoy this. The cleanser did work well in cleaning the brushes but with the pour dispenser and using this weekly to deep clean, I feel like this will get used up quickly and it's not a tad on the expensive side. Now I'm keen to see what else is available to spot clean while I use baby shampoo to deep clean.
