Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF 15
Packaging:
Palm width thick plastic container. The mauve/brown lid screws off to reveal the clear bottom portion that has a controlled sifter. Meaning you are able to twist the sifter lid to control how much of the sifter is open and product comes out.
I did notice that when stood on it's side, the powder on filled half of the container. Compared to other foundations I own, this is chunkier in size and makes it difficult to store but great durability for travel. Container itself is lightweight.
Smell:
None.
Colour:
Real Sand - beige with yellow undertones. Opaque pigmentation with a natural finish. Buildable coverage.
Formula/ Texture:
This is a smooth, fine velvet texture. It feels lightweight on the skin with no irritation, redness, dryness or breakouts. It's very easy to remove with a basic makeup wipe.
The whole idea behind mineral makeup is that it contains ingredients that aren't as harsh or harmful to the skin. This is why is recommend for those with acne prone skin as it helps to calm the skin down and breathe so it can clear up. It didn't break me out which I love.
I mentioned before, but the powder pigments are pigmented that are easily applied and buffed into the skin with a kabuki or dense brush, especially over a primer. I does smooth out the skin texture and provides a beautiful natural radiant finish. Theres no shimmer/ glitter in the powder, it's the reflection of light off the pearl pigments on the formula. I really love this! The coverage is easily buildable to suit the degree of coverage you're after.
The formula does contain SPF but I haven't noticed any white cast in photos and wouldn't rely on it as a daily sunscreen.
I think this mineral powder is suited for every skin type as either a powder foundation, like I use it or a setting powder. The finish and benefit it's providing the skin is beautiful. I just wish it wasn't as clunky to store but I can forgo that.
