Before You Leave | Travel Tips

Welcome to my Travel Tip Series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, anytime of the year, on any budget, for any length of time away on holiday.

The biggest tip I can give is do your research of your destination. We're lucky to live in a time with internet to source information and not have to rely on the books and promotional booklets at travel agencies. You can book your own holiday, read up on reviews on everything from airlines to hostels. Research customs, culture, laws and currency. This also includes, tipping etiquette of your destination,  time zone, visa requirements, best things to eat, do and see, level of personal safety to be exercised, best items to pack and airline liquid/gel/aerosol restrictions. This might have been something you have stumbled upon when you were choosing a place to go. The more knowledgable you are, the better your experience.

Make sure of your safety. Depending on where your travelling but travel insurance can ease the mind. Register your travel plans with your respective Government agency as well as family. While your there, check to see the travel advice for your destination from your Government. Let your bank know of your movements so they don't flag your account/s as fraudulent.

Before you leave, back yourself up. Do make copies of your travel documents including itinerary and give to family. Do make sure you have at leads 6 months left on your valid passport from return date. Check with your doctor if there is any health shots you need. Do learn the basic phrases of your destination language or have an app that has these as in some areas 'no thank you' is another way to say 'yes'.

The last thing as obvious as it may be is to check the weather forecast for your destination or climate if it's an international destination. Get an idea of they type of temperatures and conditions to expect that'll help you pack.

Packaging: Small clear tube with white screw lid with brush tip applicator. Smell: None. Colour: Ruby red colour. Light coverage/ sheer pigmentation with a natural finish. On the cheeks it is a lot more sheered out and is more pink looking. Texture/ Formula: This is a quite runny and thin. It absorbs and sinks into the skin quite quickly. So it must be applied onto one cheek at a time, blending it immediately. This is my first tint so I had a hard time adjusting to the application method as I ended up with blotches of tint that no powder could fix. A small amount goes a long way. I do use my fingers to apply this and the blending is easier then a brush. This does leave a slight stain on my fingertips. Benefit They're Real! Mascara

I got this sample size from The Champions of Bronze kit. Packaging: Shiny gunmetal wand handle with a gunmetal tube. The wand as long plastic bristles with a spiked ball at the end of it. This ball utilises the end of the mascara wand and reaches into the smaller lashes in the inner corner of the eye. Smell: Just the usual mascara smell. Colour: Black. Opaque pigmentation. Formula/ Texture: This is more of a wet mascara but with a really thin scraper that doesn't leave any clumps of mascara on the wand. It's a thinner wand which made applying it easy. I wasn't going through my lashes trying to separate my lashes and then add volume then back to separating a clump. Theres no flaking or transferring. It's is easily removed with makeup wipes. I have average length lashes that have a very slight natural curl to them, so I want a mascara that does it all- volume, length and curl. I always curl my lashes before mascara applicati...
