Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

Finally the well known French skincare line I have managed to get a hold of! I've heard great reviews about this cleanser. Great for removing makeup and cleansing on sensitive skin. I've been using it for over a month now and wanted to share my thoughts.

Packaging:
Flexible clear plastic bottle. The cap is tinted pink plastic that matches the text on the bottle. The opening is quite large for a cap product but in saying that the solution doesn't pour out or get dispensed fast.

Smell:
None. It is fragrance free and I'm not sensitive to scents in products unless they are really overpowering  so this wasn't an issue for me.

Colour:
Clear.

Formula/Texture:
This is a thin, lightweight liquid. It is easily absorbed into the skin. The micelles in the formula micro-emulsify impurities with no irritation to the skin or eyes. It also contains soothing ingredients as it's formulated for sensitive skin. Wait it gets better, it's hypoallergenic.

Let me explain a little bit about what micelles are, as I had never heard of it before and had no idea what it was I wanted to know what results are to come from this so I can see this when I use it compared to what the packaging is claiming. Micelles are molecules that are formed in high concentration in water. Each molecule is made up of two parts; the inside of oil and outside of water. Know you may be aware that water and oil repel each other so a micelle molecule is able to be formed the water 'head' sticking outside with the water 'tail' inside. This is the basic formulation for most soapy detergents as when the molecule is split open the oil is released and able to do its work in breaking down grease and oil. However, micelles are different in that they are spherical clusters.

So one main use of Bioderma is as a makeup remover and that's specifically brought it for; as my main makeup remover step. I use the Swippers large cotton pad rounds pictured, going over my T-zone, each cheek and then repeat the and it complete removes all my makeup including eye makeup. It is easy, fuss free and very gentle to use. If I have a lot of eye makeup on, especially a difficult to remove mascara I always go in after with a specific makeup eye remover to give this sensitive area some extra gentle care. Just to be sure I use my normal face cleanser for a deep down clean with my Clarisonic. For this result I am very happy and impressed.

Another use for the micelle solution is as a cleanser. So in the same manner as removing makeup, this is gentle and effective. The non rinse formula allows for this to be perfect for any situation especially travel and I can see why it gained a cult love in the beauty industry.

When I looked up reviews on this before I brought it, another use I found common was using it as a toner. As this cleanser isn't soapy it's not going to strip the skin of it's natural oils but instead adding a protection layer locking in moisture and gently balancing out the skins pH levels; all not making the skin work overtime producing more oil then needed.

I have combination skin and have had no breakouts, irritations, sensitivity from this. Nor did it tug or pull at my skin or leave any sort of film on my skin. I got this as Australia was hitting spring and I get bad hayfever compete with itchy sensitive eyes and this did nothing but soothe. My skin isn't left feeling tight after use and if anything it feels slightly cooling with soft skin.

This is a non rinse cleanser which was a little weird at first but I got used to it. I have used a sample oil makeup remover and it just felt away to greasy for my skin and so those along with watery skincare I have steered away from. So my thought in trying this out as a makeup remover, if it didn't work I could just use a whole lot of it so I wouldn't waste my money. I was really expecting it to leave a film of some kind and not work for me. This is what took getting used to.

There is no doubt about it this cleanser/remover is amazing. The hype is worth it, defiantly. No matter what skin type you have everyone can benefit from it. however I think if you're trying it without a specific use in mind you'll be disappointed.

Bioderma have recently over the last year rebranded this micellaire solution from 'Crealine' to 'Sensibio'. They are the same product and 'Crealine' would obviously be the older packaging. Apparently 'Sensibio' was specifically sold in Asian most European countries and 'Crealine' in France/ French speaking countries.
