Packing | Travel Tips

Welcome to my Travel Tips series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, any time of the year, on any budget for any length of time away on holiday. I love making lists, being organised and a bit of a freak searching for the best and ultimate way to pack for flights. Packing is one of the trickiest and most time consuming aspects about travelling. Most people over pack or forget to bring half the stuff they need which leads to over packing on the next trip. A lot of airlines these days charge you to check a suitcase into the hold which can get expensive. Some people, including the experienced travellers, can fit  all  their belongings into their carry on bag, not having to worry about it being lost. That is amazing but not viable for all of us. It's not as simple as packing the things you use on a daily basis. The most important key is to only pack the essentials . Yes what's essential to you is different to the next guy. A good way to l...

Juicy Couture 'Viva La Juicy' Perfume Review

Image
Packaging: Heavy square glass bottle with bejewelled cap. Around the bas of the cap is a bright pink satin bow that has a gold 'J' and 'Couture' accents. These match the gold Juicy Couture emblem on the front of the bottle. I do like how tall the cap is as it makes the sturdy cap easy to grab and remove. Notes: Top- peach, wild berries Middle- honeysuckle, gardenia, jasmine Base- amber, sandalwood, praline, caramel, vanilla Smell: This is a sweet and musky perfume. It has hints of vanilla and citrus to it initially that turns into the musk that lingers. I find this to last all day on my skin, getting whiffs of it throughout the day. I think it can be either a day or night perfume as it isn't too strong. It suits to be worn in any season and the 18-26 age range of women. This is one of my two favourite perfumes, that I'll never not have in my possession. Firstly I love the pink bow and with the bejewelled cap, adds that classic girly touc...

Carry On Tips | Travel

Welcome to my Travel Tips series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, any time of the year, on any budget, for any length of time away on holiday. This post does go in hand with Packing Tips, Jet Lag and the Universal Carry On Bag posts. However this is more of things to consider for your carry on. A carry on bag, do you even need one? Whether you've travelled as a kid, having mum pack your bag for you or to never have flown in your life at all, it may not be as straightforward as it seems. A lot of airlines these days charge you to check a suitcase into the hold which can get expensive. Fitting  all  your belongings into a carry on bag and you won't have to worry about it being lost. So here's some ideas to get the most out of what you can bring on the plane. The basics - I.D, money, copies of travel documents and an antibacterial agent. I consider these the bare minimum for any type and duration of travel. The rest is ...

Ultimate Universal Carry On Bag | Travel Tips

Welcome to my Travel Tips series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, any time of the year, on any budget, for any length of time away on holiday. The bare minimal. The items that no matter where you're going or how long for these are what you take. Of course depending if you're travelling interstate or not then some of these items can be removed but shouldn't be forgotten. Universal Carry On Bag ID and passport Various forms of money; cash and credit cards Travel documents; accommodation confirmation, insurance, itinerary Hand sanitizer or wet wipes These might the items that are in your handbag that you use everyday so it might be simple as taking this on the plane with you as your carry on and adding your flight ticket. Everyone has these, no matter who they are or what they do. The few additional items I think will be the beneficial to anyone is; deodorant, lip balm and toothbrush & paste. They all go a long way...

Prada 'Candy' Perfume Review

Image
Packaging: Circular glass bottle with the pump a black semi circle that sits above the bottle. The hardware is gold including the word Prada embellishment that sits on a hot pink, synthetic fabric plastic band. Prada Candy is engraved on the flat plate under the pump. There is no cap to this perfume which is different but the black pump I find to look very unusual. Notes: Top- musk Middle- benzoin (vanilla copy) Base- caramel Smell: This is a sweet perfume. It is a light scent that defiantly isn't overpowering that last 1-2hrs on me throughout a normal day of no excessive movement/ exercise in the cool to warm months. I do think it works better in the cooler seasons and suited for the younger teen audience as its light and sweet. When I smell this, I get a mix of vodka and some floral note. The alcohol/vodka smell doesn't last for too long. Im not impressed with this perfume purely based on the longevity, especially for how expensive it is and being a p...

Universal Travel Outfit | Travel Tips

Image
Welcome to my Travel Tip Series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, any time of the year, on any budget, for any length of time away on holiday. I'd admit it seems 'odd' that there is wrong outfit to wear travelling, but you'll be surprised at what some people wear. Some dress as though they are walking down the runway of a fashion parade whilst others in Ugg boots as though they are ready for bed!! My first tip is to consider the weather and your plans when you arrive at your destination . A lightweight cardian is easier to translate into the opposite weather and to transport around compared to a jacket and will be sufficient for the short time not indoors. Whether you are flying for 8 hours or taking a 3 hour road trip the important key is comfort . Wear clothes that are comfortable and aren't restricting. This can be done in layers. Cardigan over long sleeve shirt over singlet with a scarf using your more stylish pi...

Garnier Pure Volume Dry Shampoo

Image
Packaging: Lime green aerosol can with tinted cap. It has pink and white accent writing. The spray is fine. Honestly I thought that this can looked small when I saw it. Feeling the weight it as if there wasn't an adequate amount of product. Smell: Citrus which reminds me of their other products. Colour: None. Formula/ Texture: In my opinion this is the same formula wise like every other dry shampoo out there. On the can it says that this is silicone and colorant free. Im not 100% sure what that means, but I'm guessing it won't make your hair feel slippery like the silicone in primers do, nor extra chemicals on the hair that aren't needed. On the dry shampoo factor, yes this does work. My hair feels refreshed and doesn't look greasy. I do feel that I have to spray more of this on as compared to others I've tried but that may be due to the finer mist spray? My hair doesn't get that greasy or dirty looking at all but I have noticed...

Before You Leave | Travel Tips

Welcome to my Travel Tip Series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, anytime of the year, on any budget, for any length of time away on holiday. The biggest tip I can give is do your  research of your destination . We're lucky to live in a time with internet to source information and not have to rely on the books and promotional booklets at travel agencies. You can book your own holiday, read up on reviews on everything from airlines to hostels. Research customs, culture, laws and currency. This also includes, tipping etiquette of your destination,  time zone, visa requirements, best things to eat, do and see, level of personal safety to be exercised, best items to pack and airline liquid/gel/aerosol restrictions. This might have been something you have stumbled upon when you were choosing a place to go. The more knowledgable you are, the better your experience. Make sure of your safety . Depending on where your travelling but tra...

Welcome 2014!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :) I don't expect anyone to be reading this on January 1st, or the consecutive days after due to the massive headache/ hangover from the absolute wild and fun time that was had on NYE (don't worry I pre wrote this post a few days ago #winning). Though I do hope you ended 2013 with a bang and started 2014 in the best way possible! I love the end/start of a year. It makes me think how crazy life flows and theres no real fault in what we do. It gave me time to reflect on the year that was… 2013 was a pretty horrible year for me. I should have known by the unlucky '13' in the year. Perhaps I'm being dramatic, cause I know there is people who by definition have had a horrible year. In terms of the last few years, 2013 was horrible. I did things that I never thought I would have. My personal life went through a little ditch (of which I don't want to dive into). I've changed jobs and took time off for me. I booked and paid for ...
