Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

Image
Finally the well known French skincare line I have managed to get a hold of! I've heard great reviews about this cleanser. Great for removing makeup and cleansing on sensitive skin. I've been using it for over a month now and wanted to share my thoughts. Packaging: Flexible clear plastic bottle. The cap is tinted pink plastic that matches the text on the bottle. The opening is quite large for a cap product but in saying that the solution doesn't pour out or get dispensed fast. Smell: None. It is fragrance free and I'm not sensitive to scents in products unless they are  really  overpowering  so this wasn't an issue for me. Colour: Clear. Formula/Texture: This is a thin, lightweight liquid. It is easily absorbed into the skin. The micelles in the formula micro-emulsify impurities with no irritation to the skin or eyes. It also contains soothing ingredients as it's formulated for sensitive skin. Wait it gets better, it's hypoallergenic. Let...

Bobbi Brown Corrector

Image
Packaging: Slim small round black shiny plastic compact. The inside lid is a full mirror. The bottom portion is the product which is smaller than I was expecting from the pictures online.  It's easy to clean but does pick up grubby fingermarks. Smell:  None. Colour: Light Bisque - light beige with pink undertones. Medium to full coverage/pigmentation with a natural matte finish. Total of 11 shades that either very pink or very yellow undertoned. Compared to the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, this is much pink undertoned. L-Bobbi Brown R-Laura Mercier Formula/ Texture: This is a thin consistency and creamy texture. It does feel lightweight under the eyes. I feel that the thin consistency allows you to apply a lighter layer, avoiding creasing. I haven't found this to settle into any lines either. It's easy to apply with either a small synthetic brush or fingers. It is long lasting of 8hrs. It has skin conditioners infused in the formula whic...

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers

Image
I read and heard great things about these eyelash curlers. I know, a lot of talk over a simple and affordable makeup tool, so what gives? Feeling as though my eyelashes never really curl much by the Shisdeo curlers I decided to pick these up. I have average sized and shape eyes. Also I will say from the onset I alternate each one on a daily basis. Packaging: Shiny silver eyelash curlers with 'Shu Uemura' engraved on the outside plate that sits on your eye. It does come with a replacement pad.  Comparison to Shiseido: I am only comparing these curlers they are the only ones I have.  Both have comfortable handles though the Shiseido has less room for your fingers to move around. Both operate with ease and open the same large width, with Shiseido that little bit more. Both pads are firm and upholds the plate well. While they are different colours this doesn't matter to me, the effect does. The pictures I tried really hard to line up the same as the ...

Re-review: Benefit Hoola Box o' Powder

Image
A while back I did a review on Benefit's Hoola Boxed Powder. I received a sample and didn't like it, it was too muddy for me. Well this is a first segment, where I am doing a re-review. Colour: Medium brown with warm undertones. Sheer pigmentation with a matte finish. Formula/ Texture: Smooth but a little stiff as it's dry. It's easy to apply, though I haven't tried it with the small sample square thin brush you see above that was included. I found it to be long wearing too, lasting an average 10hr day by the time I take it off. Just a caution that you have to be careful with applying this as too much product can give a muddy brown look. I honestly didn't expect to like it. It gives you this nice warm bronzed look. I found it very comparable with Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, I think Too Faced is more long wearing and you can't beat the sweet yummy chocolate smell :) I would recommend this bronzer for contouring. If your debating betwee...

Nails | Essie 'Secret Story'

Image
This colour is a bright pink with blue undertones. It has more blue undertones to OPI Pink Flamenco. It is a flat colour with no shimmer or glitter. It is opaque in two coats. Oh how I am obsessed with this colour! It is my first Essie polish and very new to my collection. It is more of that neon bright pink that I was trying to find. This has been on my fingers for the past month and just recently popped onto my toes. This is me in a bottle. I defiantly feel it's a summer colour but I'd love to have this brightness in my life during the dull skies of winter. In this picture I am wearing it with an accent nail consisting on two coats of OPI's Bubble Bath and two coats of OPI's Teenage Dream. Very girly but I love how this all screams fun and me!!

Overview | Top MAC Lip Products

Image
I wanted to put together the top lip colours that I gravitate towards and why I would recommend them.  Everyone has one and these are mine. MAC colours are very pigmented with an opaque coverage and have a lovely vanilla scent. These are some of the first lipsticks I've purchased that I love an enjoy wearing to pretty much all occasions. I found them all the be universally flattering, meaning all tones of skin will be able to pull them off.  These would also be the shades for MAC starters. Creme de Nude may be the only one thats hard to make work but it depends on what blush you pair it with that will make the difference. Angel Is the gorgeous shade of pink you can slap on to add some soft colour to our face without feeling like it's over powering- it's a good alternative to a brown shade of lipstick. Angel is a neutral pink with some hint of brown and cool undertones. MAC describes it as a soft pink. This colour has a frost finish meaning it has a slight sheen ...

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser - Oil Free

Image
Packaging: Plastic flat and thin maroon metallic shiny squeeze tube with screw off lid. The opening is a little large for a squeeze tube and you have to be careful when dispensing product. Smell: Sunscreen. but disappears once on the skin. Colour: Nude - light beige for fair to light skintones. Sheer to medium coverage that is buildable with a satin finish. As you can see from the picture below it does oxidise a bit. Available in 12 shades. Formula/ Texture: Is a runny liquid that feels thick when applied. It has to be applied fast as it dries quickly but is easy to blend. It feels lightweight on the skin. It is oil free and contains SPF20. It's hard to say if its long wearing as such as the coverage is light but the vitamin C & E do help to prevent drying of the skin. Fine lines are soften, uneven skintone is gone and there is no irritation to the skin a bonus that it's non-comedogenic. I wear this when I am running errands or will...

Losing Your Best Friend..

I believe that everyone needs friends. They offer you a different perspective and make like more joyful. I haven't ever done a life post. Telling you something that has happened in my personal life. I feel as though it would help me in a therapeutic way and if anyone else is going through a similar situation that they can relate. I am no longer friends with one of my best friends of 11 years. Do I regret deciding to not be friends with her? No. Do I wish/think I could have tried harder? No, actually I tried more harder then I should have. So heres the situation. Me and my best friend, lets call her Emma, have been besties since high school where we both went. We were in the same form/ home room class but had a different group of friends outside of this who'd we hang out with at lunch. She was a lovely girl, nice and friendly to everyone, didn't want anyone to feel left and and tried to make those who didn't have many friends feel welcome.  I always envied an...

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Oil Free

Image
Packaging: Plastic thin and flat beige/grey metallic squeeze tube with screw off lid. The opening is a good small size where the perfect amount of product is dispensed out. Smell: Slightly chemical. Colour: White that is clear when thinned out over the face. Natural finish. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin cream formula. It is lightweight on the skin that is really easily applied and absorbed. It's non greasy and I've not had any irritations however this does break me out. That's odd to me as it's oil free and these products don't break me out. It makes me think that maybe my skin is allergic to a specific ingredient which I can't pinpoint. The skin actually feels refreshed and smoothed out thanks to the non-comedogenic green tea, and vitamins A, C, E and cucumber. I don't need a large amount of product to adequately cover my face and neck. It doesn't grip my foundation as much as other silicone based primers but ...

Laura Mercier Undercover Pot

Image
This was from the Flawless Face kit and the product that I'm most excited to try. Packaging: Large plastic container that feels quite decent. The bottom portion is clear and contains the loose setting powder with a sifter but no control mechanism. This means that a lot more powder is dispensed and if you're not careful can go everywhere. The top portion is a twist off metallic maroon compact that opens to reveal the secret camouflage (left) and secret concealer (right). The inside of this compact is a mirror which opens up far back enough to get your fingers into the separate portions without having to worry about hitting the mirror. Smell: None. Colour: Secret Concealer - peach undertone. Full coverage with a matte finish. Secret Camouflage - 2 for fair to light complexions with yellow undertones. Full coverage with a natural finish. Powder - yellow undertone. Light coverage with a matte finish. L- Secret Concealer  R- Secret Camouflage ...

My Makeup Organisation & Storage

Image
I've been wanting to post this for a long time but hesitated. Im not sure why, maybe I was still making it my own and work for me. Nethertheless I want to share. I love all things makeup and  organisation too. Im so interested in how people with different lifestyles and interests organise their belongs. It then turns into the collective tired and tested 'best' way of storing clothing and ideas.  So a bit about my collection. I wear makeup every week day to my full time job and on the weekends if I have something on. I do glam up more for special occasions and nights out. I would classify my collection as small. I like to use up products before buying or at least opening a similar one. If I see something that isn't unique in terms of it's formula or on sale for a really good price - I don't buy it. Hard to follow sometimes but it makes sure I use what I have. I store all my makeup in this acrylic Large Original Clear Box from The Makeup Box Shop ($14...

Wish List: Nov 2013

Image
**Bonus Post!! At a special time too!** Sigh. Another day, another product wanted. Let me just start of by saying that none of these things are necessities. They are purely wants . Yes I can live without them but it would be amazing and cool and fabulous to have them in my possession :) I'm pretty sure I did one of these posts well over a year ago. I like making lists, it helps to clear the mind but also having ideas/words jotted down keeps a physical reminder. There is something satisfying in crossing them off. I'm in no rush to get these but I would like  to have these within the next year. Whenever I get an item, I'll come back and mark it off with the date. Really this should be called 'the things I'm going to eventually buy'! So without further ado, here is the list; Kikki-K Leather Personal Planner: Fushica **GIFTED** I can't start off this list without a product to start the new year! This is an 18mth perpetual calendar. Meaning that it...
