Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Packaging:
Bulky plastic casing with a ridge for the sponge. This isn't reusable or can act as a storage method once the sponge has been used as it can't breathe. The sponge itself is a tear drop shaped with a portion of it cut off on a sharp angle.
Smell:
None.
Colour:
Orange that doesn't transfer to the face.
Formula/ Texture:
This is a very dense sponge. When squeezed in the hands it is from and takes longer to bounce back and regain it's shape.
The shape of the sponge has different purposes. The flat edge contours round the eyes and nose. The rounded body blends large areas of the face. While the pointed tip precisely covers imperfections. I have found each of these elements to work for it's purpose I much prefer using the pointed tip to get right under the eye area.
It can be used wet or dry. Either way I have found that this does soak up more foundation than if I was using my fingers for application. So be sure to add a touch more product then you'd think. In terms of using the sponge, I don't find it difficult to use but it is a little smaller in the hand to hold.
The result this sponge gives is quite impressive. It's more flawless compared to using fingers and theres no sponge 'strokes' as typical with some foundation brushes. The packaging recommends to wash this every 1 - 3 uses. I like to wash it after every use using baby shampoo. It's easy to wash but when squeezing the sponge dry it does feel as though some soap is still retained not matter how many times iI wring it with water.
If you can pick it up it's defiantly worth it and a really good option made readily available. If you would like to know how it compares to the Beauty Blender, then read here.
