Types of Packing | Travel Tips
Welcome to my Travel Tips series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, anytime of the year, on any budget, for any length of time away on holiday.
Packing may be as simple as chucking everything into a suitcase. However this isn't won't be efficient for you in the long run. While it's not a science to it, there is defiantly more effective ways to pack depending on what you're after.
Fold
This is simply folding your clothes as you would to put them away at home. You can separate the bottoms from bottoms from long sleeved items etc.
Roll
Take a item of clothing and fold in half to create an square face. Starting from the smallest side, roll the item. These can then be placed into your suitcase. This is the most effective method as it takes up less space in as compared to the other two methods. Great for non wrinkle prone items.
Bundle
This involves layering clothes face down at alternative 180 degrees to each other. Working backwards fold each item in taut. The items with sleeves to be tucked in first, creating a bundle. This is usually wrapped around a fragile item. Working from bottom to top or less wrinkle print to most is jackets, short dresses & shirts, pants & long dresses, skirts, sweaters & knits. Each category in the commas to face the opposite latitude. This bundle can then be placed in your suitcase. I have never heard/ seen/ thought of this method until I researched 'travel tips'. Great for tailored items or wrinkle prone items.
