At Your Destination | Travel Tips

Welcome to my Travel Tip Series. I wanted to create a series of tips and ideas that'll suit anyone, anytime of the year, on any budget, for any length of time away on holiday.

As simple as I may be the best tip is to take notes and photos. You may think you'll remember when you get home you and shouldn't have to remember it. This doesn't have to be a typical pen and paper situation, use the notes or reminder app on your smart phone instead. I prefer the journal way, there's something about handwritten journalling.

The same goes for photos- you can never take enough. If you feel as though you should take a photo no matter what silly reason, then do. Better then getting home and wishing you had taken more photos.

Unfortunate as it is, be careful of your money and where you keep it on you. This is so important, more so if you're in third war countries or low social economic areas. Europe for example has pickpocketsers that'll slash the bottom of a backpack or handbag and quickly grab whatever they can and run. All before you notice. Make sure your money/wallet is on you either in a money belt or on a cross body bag that sits right in front of you with a short strap.

It also ties in with being aware of the scams in these areas. You had done your research before you left and are aware of any scams or techniques that may be employed to steal your belongings. It may be lost in the amazement and excitement of your new surroundings but it is vital. Your Government or that of the destination country will be the best place for help and advice.

Lastly, enjoy! Memories are waiting to be made, scenery to be snapped and local cuisine to be eaten!!
