Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser - Oil Free

Image
Packaging: Plastic flat and thin maroon metallic shiny squeeze tube with screw off lid. The opening is a little large for a squeeze tube and you have to be careful when dispensing product. Smell: Sunscreen. but disappears once on the skin. Colour: Nude - light beige for fair to light skintones. Sheer to medium coverage that is buildable with a satin finish. As you can see from the picture below it does oxidise a bit. Available in 12 shades. Formula/ Texture: Is a runny liquid that feels thick when applied. It has to be applied fast as it dries quickly but is easy to blend. It feels lightweight on the skin. It is oil free and contains SPF20. It's hard to say if its long wearing as such as the coverage is light but the vitamin C & E do help to prevent drying of the skin. Fine lines are soften, uneven skintone is gone and there is no irritation to the skin a bonus that it's non-comedogenic. I wear this when I am running errands or will...

Losing Your Best Friend..

I believe that everyone needs friends. They offer you a different perspective and make like more joyful. I haven't ever done a life post. Telling you something that has happened in my personal life. I feel as though it would help me in a therapeutic way and if anyone else is going through a similar situation that they can relate. I am no longer friends with one of my best friends of 11 years. Do I regret deciding to not be friends with her? No. Do I wish/think I could have tried harder? No, actually I tried more harder then I should have. So heres the situation. Me and my best friend, lets call her Emma, have been besties since high school where we both went. We were in the same form/ home room class but had a different group of friends outside of this who'd we hang out with at lunch. She was a lovely girl, nice and friendly to everyone, didn't want anyone to feel left and and tried to make those who didn't have many friends feel welcome.  I always envied an...

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Oil Free

Image
Packaging: Plastic thin and flat beige/grey metallic squeeze tube with screw off lid. The opening is a good small size where the perfect amount of product is dispensed out. Smell: Slightly chemical. Colour: White that is clear when thinned out over the face. Natural finish. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin cream formula. It is lightweight on the skin that is really easily applied and absorbed. It's non greasy and I've not had any irritations however this does break me out. That's odd to me as it's oil free and these products don't break me out. It makes me think that maybe my skin is allergic to a specific ingredient which I can't pinpoint. The skin actually feels refreshed and smoothed out thanks to the non-comedogenic green tea, and vitamins A, C, E and cucumber. I don't need a large amount of product to adequately cover my face and neck. It doesn't grip my foundation as much as other silicone based primers but ...

Laura Mercier Undercover Pot

Image
This was from the Flawless Face kit and the product that I'm most excited to try. Packaging: Large plastic container that feels quite decent. The bottom portion is clear and contains the loose setting powder with a sifter but no control mechanism. This means that a lot more powder is dispensed and if you're not careful can go everywhere. The top portion is a twist off metallic maroon compact that opens to reveal the secret camouflage (left) and secret concealer (right). The inside of this compact is a mirror which opens up far back enough to get your fingers into the separate portions without having to worry about hitting the mirror. Smell: None. Colour: Secret Concealer - peach undertone. Full coverage with a matte finish. Secret Camouflage - 2 for fair to light complexions with yellow undertones. Full coverage with a natural finish. Powder - yellow undertone. Light coverage with a matte finish. L- Secret Concealer  R- Secret Camouflage ...

My Makeup Organisation & Storage

Image
I've been wanting to post this for a long time but hesitated. Im not sure why, maybe I was still making it my own and work for me. Nethertheless I want to share. I love all things makeup and  organisation too. Im so interested in how people with different lifestyles and interests organise their belongs. It then turns into the collective tired and tested 'best' way of storing clothing and ideas.  So a bit about my collection. I wear makeup every week day to my full time job and on the weekends if I have something on. I do glam up more for special occasions and nights out. I would classify my collection as small. I like to use up products before buying or at least opening a similar one. If I see something that isn't unique in terms of it's formula or on sale for a really good price - I don't buy it. Hard to follow sometimes but it makes sure I use what I have. I store all my makeup in this acrylic Large Original Clear Box from The Makeup Box Shop ($14...

Wish List: Nov 2013

Image
**Bonus Post!! At a special time too!** Sigh. Another day, another product wanted. Let me just start of by saying that none of these things are necessities. They are purely wants . Yes I can live without them but it would be amazing and cool and fabulous to have them in my possession :) I'm pretty sure I did one of these posts well over a year ago. I like making lists, it helps to clear the mind but also having ideas/words jotted down keeps a physical reminder. There is something satisfying in crossing them off. I'm in no rush to get these but I would like  to have these within the next year. Whenever I get an item, I'll come back and mark it off with the date. Really this should be called 'the things I'm going to eventually buy'! So without further ado, here is the list; Kikki-K Leather Personal Planner: Fushica **GIFTED** I can't start off this list without a product to start the new year! This is an 18mth perpetual calendar. Meaning that it...

Like with my similar posts, this is my top MAC eyeshadow picks that I thought would be fun to share. Lets be honest, if I'm going to fork out that kind of money for an eyeshadow I want to know how wearable it is. These are the ones for starters of the brand and the ones that I would recommend. All colours are neutral, wearable, everyday and every occasion colours. Add colour to suit you and your personal taste. That's why I choose these specific ones. Highlight Shroom - soft muted golden beige with shimmer Lid All That Glitters - midtone beige with pink shimmer Grain - soft golden beige with icy shimmer Patina - muted taupe brown with golden shimmer Crease/ Outer V Cork - muted golden brown Wedge - soft muted golden beige brown Woodwinked - warm antique gold Setting Eyeliner Carbon - true rich black   *if you have a black from any palette from any brand then this shade isn't necessary. I do think a black can be used for anyth...

Extended Makeup Brush Guide

These are the brushes in my opinion that aren't essential but for someone who loves their makeup and wears it everyday will benefit from these. I also think these would be used more by someone who has a larger variety of makeup. I suggest to always see the brush in person otherwise you will become disappointed. Feel it, play with it on your face. Test to see how it would work for what your after. Remember the denser a brush is the more it's going to pick up. The fine the tip the more precise application of colour. I think the quality and seamless of your makeup is a lot to do with the quality of your brushes. Cheap, average brushes won't provide you with the same application as mid range priced brushes. Basically you get what you pay for. A Chanel brush is the top end of the spectrum and may often then not be over priced and very similar to mid range priced brushes. I also want to mention that what specific brushes work for me may not for you. There are different len...

Starter Makeup Brush Guide

Since moving house, I have been into sorting things out and finding the most efficient and basic ways  to do and store things. So getting back to basics - what is really needed. This extended into my makeup and filtering what is the minimal amount of brushes needed for a usual face of makeup also the ones I have recommended. I am in no way a professional, I just wanted to share.  I suggest to always see the brush in person otherwise you will become disappointed. Feel it, play with it on your face. Test to see how it would work for what your after. Remember the denser a brush is the more it's going to pick up. The fine the tip the more precise application of colour. Overview | Top Spring/ Summer Nail Colours

Image
It's getting to that time of the year when things are starting to heat up and this really excites me.  Without fail I have a small selection of nails colours that I have on rotation throughout the warmer months that I love wearing (plus all year round). So as a new post, I thought I'd show you some of  my  favourite picks for the Spring/ Summer seasons. L-R: OPI Bubble Bath, Your Such A Budapest, Dating A Royal,  Pink Flamenco I don't know about you but I love bright colours during summer, playing off the heat and excitement that comes with the months. So a vivid pink like OPI's Pink Flamenco shown here is a fun, girly way to add some colour. I also love a tomato red or even an orange red colour but I finished up those bottles last year, so a fresh new one will have to be purchased soon. Now not all summer colour shave to be girly. Another bright colour is a citrus colour like yellow or orange. I have these colours that I'll be cracking out of the f...

Starter Products | MAC

My top products to give you a taste of what Mac has to offer. Mineral Skin Finish Natural (MSF Natural) It's a low coverage powder but that extra tint of colour can be all you need to even out the skin. I love the natural semi-matte finish it gives. It's a baked powder with mineral pigments meaning it doesn't have any harmful ingredients. It's a soft and velvety powder that is awesome to set foundation and when worn on it's own. It does also last a long while. Lipstick Any formula of lipstick will be a good test. MAC does have a very wide variety of shades that smell like vanilla. I have four different formulas and they all have equal long staying power on my lips. Easy to apply too. My favourite shades are; Blankety, High Tea and Angel. Blush - Pink Swoon Ahhh MAC's blushes are soft, velvety, easy to apply and blend. Pink Swoon  however is a sheer blush with a matte finish, giving a natural bright pick flush to the cheeks. Now don't ...
