What's In My Carry On Bag? | Travel Tips

Back in January I did a whole travel series, explaining tips for the different aspects of travel. One of the posts was about a carry on bag. I thought it would be handy to see what I personally take in my carry on bag and how this has been edited for my first long haul, overnight flying.

I like taking a bag that can hold a lot more then it's size. This bag is from Strandbags and I thought it'll be perfect for both on the plane and out walking/ touristing around. The colour is perfect for this also going with any outfit. The long cross body strap is additional safety in another country when walking around.

The amount of pockets on this bag is perfect for travelling. All different sizes along the front and two on the side for a water bottle and a big decent sized main zip. I do suggest considering what features you want out of a carry on bag, what you are considering of holding in it and what you'd prefer quick access to. For me this was pockets for little things such as lip balm, phone and passport especially travelling through multiple airports.

Without a doubt the basics need to be in there; I.D, money, copies of travel documents (in the teal wallet) and an antibacterial agent.

Starting from the top left I have; a mini emergency kit, earphones, hydration mist, Wet Wipes, Brita reusable water bottle, magazine with journal and pen, travel wallet, eye mask, change of clothes, phone charger and adaptor, makeup and hydration face masks.

The mini emergency kit contains basic fashion items such as gel spots, fashion tape but also a mini sewing kit cause you never know what you'll need to fix asap away. I added some additional items like the bandaids, extra bobby pins, spare hair lackey, lip balm, safety pins and gum (both not pictured).

The hydration mist masks and water bottle are to keep me hydrated both inside and out. The small 4 hrs flights I have done in the past have dried my skin out a little so I'm preparing for the longer flights. The wet wipes are my sanitiser for hands, face, body and any

Earphones, magazines and journal are all my form of entertainment to be used with my phone. Which is also why I have a phone charger and USA country power converter. I have a travel wallet that has the basics I.D, money, copies of travel documents/ itinerary and my passport.

Plane air doesn't do well with my skin so I don't wear a lot of makeup to lessen the aggravation. I do carry mascara, eyelash curlers, blush and concealer to make myself feel not sluggish after the flight.

Lastly I have a spare change of clothes and a sleeping mask. I normally have trouble getting to sleep on a plane but again I haven't been on an overnight flight. You can see the leggings from the spare change of clothes, which I have in case I loose my checked luggage and I want to feel somewhat refreshed. That has never happened to me but I won't be caught out.

So all of this fits very comfortably in the bag even with room to move. I will report back and let you know how it held up but I don't foresee me having any problems. I haven't included but will bring are sunglasses and a neck pillow.
