Tarte Amazonian Clay Long-Wear (12hr) Blush

Packaging:

The blushes come in a clear square plastic box with basic and minimal writing with the main focus on the blushes themselves. The blush packaging is a round compact with a lil floral swirl on the front side and colour name and details on the back side. The colour of the blush compact depends on what shade you have which is really cool and awesome feature. So in my case amused is a bright pink shade which the colour of the compact matches accordingly.

The inside of the compact on the lid has a mirror covering the width of the lid. The blush is in he pan with a clear plastic disc protecting the powder itself. What is an interesting feature of these blushes is the river like pattern embossed on the blush powder to resemble the Amazonian river where the clay is derived from. It also lets me know how much I have used based on the clarity of the embossing.

Smell:

None.

Colour:

Dollface - light pink with cool undertones (top). Opaque pigmentation with a matte finish. I would almost say that it's a bubblegum pink colour. I think this colour is similar to MAC's Pinch O' Peach. In the pan Tarte is more of a brighter/ lighter colour but when swatched it is extremely hard to tell the difference between the two brands.

Amused - bright pink with cool undertones (bottom). Opaque pigmentation with a matte finish. I have found this shade to be comparable to MAC's Pink Swoon.

Tipsy - coral with warm undertones. Medium pigmentation with a matte finish.

Exposed - nude with a hint of brown and cool undertones.  Medium pigmentation with a matte finish.

Glisten - pink coral with warm undertones and gold shimmer. Medium pigmentation with a shimmer finish.

Available in 8 shades ranging from a light pink to a plumy rose. 

Texture/ Formula:

It's a smooth & velvety textured powder. It glides into the cheeks and I use MAC's 239 blush brush to apply these. More pigmented blushes I would recommend a stippling blush. I've had no sensitivity or dryness from these blushes. They are easy to remove.

Longevity of the blush is 12hrs as per the claim to this line of blushes. Whilst running errands after work and I did notice that the blush was still on the cheeks but defiantly wasn't as vibrant as when I had applied it first thing in the morning but wasn't blotchy either. The intensity stays the same for me for 8hrs.

These blushes are infused with Amazonian Clay from the Amazonian River. This clay is nature's nutrient rich mineral that has skin nourishing properties. The clay is good for all skin types as for oily skin, oil and pores are minimised as well as balancing the skin. For dry skin the clay helps to hydrate the skin to restore the moisture balance that is needed so the blush lasts longer. For dull skin the clay properties helps improve the clarity and skin texture. Finally for combination skin, the clay in the blush helps to give an overall smooth and even appearance on the cheeks.

The formula has some environmental skin benefits. Moisture is retained in the skin which also acts as a natural stimulation for collagen, plumping the skin, decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles from the beeswax. Being an antioxidant, Vitamin C fights radical damage, prevents oxidative stress and premature signs of ageing, while brightening the skin. Vitamin E (which acts as an anti-inflammatory)  help to fight the chemicals and toxins found in the air.

As far as I have interpreted that this is Tarte's cult product. New limited edition shades are released in kits and are snapped up almost in an instant. In terms of the benefits found in the formulation of the blush I don't notice any environmental protection cause I don't know what that looks like or how  can tell. However it has been looking healthy, plump and overall radiant. I really enjoy the longevity and texture of the blushes. The added skin benefits are nice to have natural, chemical free makeup.
