Schwarzkopf Taft Full On Freeze It Fixing Hairspray

Image
Packaging: Matte black long and wide metal can. The lid is tinted blue to match the blue elements on the can complete with a fleur pattern. The spray is and I haven't and the nozzle clog. Smell: Floral. Colour: None. Formula/ Texture: This is a fine, thin liquid that's a bit tacky to the touch. It is very lightweight on the hair and easy to comb out. If too much is sprayed in the one area and the spray is concentrated, the hair is stiff and this does take a bit of care to comb out. For best results, shake the can well and hold 30cm away from hair. For added volume spray directly onto the roots. This has a hold factor 6, which is the highest level. While I found it to hold up styles such as a bun I wouldn't consider it ultimate hold. I think a basic hairspray would be able to do this. For other styles such as curls, I didn't find it to hold well. Defiantly no where near a 48hr lasting hold. Maybe I haven't been using it correctly...

Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Harder Firm Volumising Hairspray

Image
Packaging: Very tall and thick red metal aerosol can with a black nozzle and clear cap. This correlates to elements of black and white on the packaging. It's very bold and big making it more noticeable. The spray is dense and wide. I haven't experienced the nozzle clogging. This is the same colour for the whole Big Sexy Hair line. Smell: Light floral. Colour: None. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin and fine liquid. It's easily applied from the can. For best results you shake the can well and spray onto dry roots for volume and hold. I was actually surprised for the denser spray that this  is lightweight and undetectable on the hair. It's not sticky or leaves any residue and easy to comb out too. The droplets weren't as fine as other hairsprays, it held the firmness of a style in place throughout the day. It defiantly wasn't industrial grade so no helmet feeling hair here but created movement of the style throughout the day...

GlamGlow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment

Image
Packaging: Heavy, palm sized smooth round metal jar with a plastic screw on lid. The jar has a blue and silver/ grey colour scheme. The lid features a silver star to match the silver embellishments. There is a product stopper that lifts out which can be either thrown away or kept. It feels considerably heavy and wide with not a lot of packaging wastage when you see how much product it holds. This could have something to do with keeping the natural ingredients/ acids fresh. It comes in this round shaped white cardboard box. The lid is a flap that lifts up, revealing the jar in a cradle from the cardboard, covered by another 'Hello Sexy' flap. I thought this was a unique way to present the jar and it was nice to have my sexiness reaffirmed! This is a little larger jar size then the white supreme treatment mask. Smell/Taste: Caramel cookie dough! Colour: Golden brown. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin and smooth cream. It's very easy to app...

Tresemme Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo

Image
Packaging: This is a short and stubby black shiny can. There are elements of orange and yellow reflected on the front of the can with correspond to the tinted yellow large cap. This has a wide and fine spray. I haven't had the nozzle clog. Smell: Citrus signature Tresemme scent.  Colour: None. Formula/ Texture: This is easily applied from the can. I don't find it to create to white of a patch of dry shampoo, so rubbing this in with either hands or a brush requires little effort and can be done quickly. It's not sticky or leaves any residue. For best results you do have to shake the can well and spray 25cm away onto the roots. This didn't do much for me. I tired the original formula and was disappointment then too. I found I had to spray more/for longer to get my desired result, compared to other brands I've tried. Judging from the size of the can I feel like Im getting less product compared to the other brands and it didn't ...

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Overnight Mask

Image
Packaging: Palm sized, round white plastic tub with a screw off lid. The lid reveals straight to the product. The outside has light blue and red colours on the packaging. It does come in a similar cardboard box. Smell: None. Colour: Clear. Formula/ Texture: This is a thick, smooth gel. It is easily and quickly absorbed with a silky feel left on hands after application. There is a cooling effect on face and tackiness to the skin doesn't alter the skins' finish. I did find there to be a slight tackiness between my face and a pillow due to the consistency. I think the heat from my head actually aided in the penetration of the mask. In the morning skin feels a bit dewy and even looks brighter with even skin tone. Once washed off, my skin does feel smooth and very well hydrated. It is amazing at retaining moisture deep down into the pores with any remaining product sitting on the face in the morning felling 'dewy'. It's fuss free in...

Paul Mitchell Express Style Hot Off The Press Hairspray

Image
Packaging: Smooth, silver metal aresol can with a red nozzle and a clear cap. The nozzle sprays a long, fine and wide mist. The closer the spray reaches the air the more dense and narrow it'll be. I haven't had the nozzle clog on me. This did take a bit of a learning curve to get used to. My first coupe of tries, I sprayed too much and didn't hold any curl. When the straightener was ran through I heard sizzling, mean my hair was wet. This was from spraying too close to my hair and not taking into consideration the length of the spray. For myself I have to hold the can out farther then I typically would with a heat thermal protectant spray....

BaubleBar Haul

Image
So I did a bit of a spring update recently from an affordable jewellery online store; Bauble Bar. First let me start with the packaging. All these bulky statement necklaces came in a slim cardboard box that when the lid is lifted, reveals a bright pink interior - got me there! On top was a gorgeous matching pink first time buyer item. This was a small gold bar pendant necklace. I was super stockade to see this because the longer version has been sold out for a while on their website. Very sweet and a amazing inclusion that I wasn't even expecting!! It also came with a green envelope that thanked me for my order and a copy of an invoice. The items are carefully packed in the box, with this black and white stripped paper covering it all. It made unwrapping the box so much more exciting and luscious. I was surprised again when each item is in its own storage pouch, with bubble wrap and cleaning instructions. I can tell my times were very safe during transit. So far I ...

Project 10 Pan | August

Image
Very similar to 'Products I'm Using Up' tags, I wanted to show what are the products that I am aiming to use up completely. Not just touch pan and be done, but so there is literally nothing but the packing left. I guess I'm doing this to be somewhat accountable for my determination. While I'm not going to set a time limit on this, I am going to do a monthly update to show my progress. 1. NARS Lipgloss 'Turkish Delight' This is one of the oldest, if not oldest lip glosses I own. I can smell it's starting to turn bad but there is a tiny bit left I want to try and use up before it goes completely bad. 2. Benefit sample Hoola Bronzer I hit pan on this in the last month and I am determined to chuck this little metal square in the bin!! 3. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit The concealer breaks me out but has good coverage so I have to us sit sparingly. The powder I think is pretty average and am using it to set my makeup in an effort t...

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

Image
Packaging: Brown aresol metal can with a shiny silver cap. It has a wide nozzle that emits a strong/faint/narrow/wide spray. I like how you can determine how much product is left based on the weight of the can. If you don't press hard enough on the nozzle the product fumbles out and gets over the nozzle which doesn't affect the opening but looks messy. Smell: None. Colour: Medium Glow - light/ medium skin tones. Available in 5 shades. Formula/ Texture: This is a runny liquid. It is lightweight and undetectable on the skin. It's best applied and blended in immediately using the fingers, working in small areas. Otherwise I have found it to stain where it lands, in large amounts if not enough pressure is applied to the nozzle. The thing I love about this is that once it sets you are ready to dress. I guess this is one way its different from generic tan. The quick drying means you can use it all over the body. I haven't had any irritati...
