What's In My Travel Makeup Bag? | Travel Tips

So I am heading away to America the start of June for a month, now while I want to spend each day exploring, I still want to look decent and somewhat photo ready. I don't want my whole suitcase to be heavy from makeup but I'd like more then just the basics. Here's a breakdown of what I'm taking;


Face
Primer - Smashbox Photofinish

Foundation - MUFE HD in shade #117. This has perfect coverage, pump dispenser, great longevity and is lightweight on the skin. Great for long day wear.

Concealer - Maybelline Instant Age Dark Circle Eraser #1. For blemishes and under eyes.
                   YSL Touche Ecalt #1. Perfect for face luminous in the early hours.

Powder - Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Diffused Light. New powder obsession.

Under Eye Powder - Bare Minerals Well Rested. Brighten under the eyes and set this area.

Contour - Benefit Hoola [deluxe sample from Bronze Of Champions Kit]. Great size. Great opportunity to test this out.

Blush - Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr in shade Amused. Colour goes with any look. Easily buildable. Long lasting.


Eyes
Eyeshadow - Naked palette. All the looks I would want to create are right here, even black for setting eyeliner. The brow bone/ inner corner shades can double as a cheek highlighter.

Eyeshadow Primer - Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Eye Liner - L'Oreal Khol Pencil in white (for inner rim).

 Mascara  - Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion #very black. Natural voluminous lashes. Buildable volume.

Lashes - Ardell 120, lash glue & Tweezers. For nights out, especially in Vegas.


Lips
Lipstick - MAC Angel. Light pink. Everyday shade
                MAC Ruby Woo. Glamour red. Big nights out
                Maybelline Colorsensation Vivid Fuchsia Flash. Bright Pink. Nights out

Lip Liner - Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On in shade Ozone.

Lip balm - Nivea

All of this is stored in a fold out/ expandable case from a clothing store 2 years ago. It was pretty inexpensive and I didn't think it'll last me this long with no signs of damage. It zips open across the middle revealing three clear plastic removable pouches and one on the side of the case.

Packaging: Opaque white plastic squeeze tube with a twist off cap. The nib is fine and 2mm wide. The packaging has elements of green and brown to tie in with the organic line. Packaging: Small clear tube with white screw lid with brush tip applicator. Smell: None. Colour: Ruby red colour. Light coverage/ sheer pigmentation with a natural finish. On the cheeks it is a lot more sheered out and is more pink looking. Texture/ Formula: This is a quite runny and thin. It absorbs and sinks into the skin quite quickly. So it must be applied onto one cheek at a time, blending it immediately. This is my first tint so I had a hard time adjusting to the application method as I ended up with blotches of tint that no powder could fix. A small amount goes a long way. I do use my fingers to apply this and the blending is easier then a brush. This does leave a slight stain on my fingertips. Benefit They're Real! Mascara

I got this sample size from The Champions of Bronze kit. Packaging: Shiny gunmetal wand handle with a gunmetal tube. The wand as long plastic bristles with a spiked ball at the end of it. This ball utilises the end of the mascara wand and reaches into the smaller lashes in the inner corner of the eye. Smell: Just the usual mascara smell. Colour: Black. Opaque pigmentation. Formula/ Texture: This is more of a wet mascara but with a really thin scraper that doesn't leave any clumps of mascara on the wand. It's a thinner wand which made applying it easy. I wasn't going through my lashes trying to separate my lashes and then add volume then back to separating a clump. Theres no flaking or transferring. It's is easily removed with makeup wipes. I have average length lashes that have a very slight natural curl to them, so I want a mascara that does it all- volume, length and curl. I always curl my lashes before mascara applicati...
