Benefit They're Real! Mascara
I got this sample size from The Champions of Bronze kit.
Packaging:
Shiny gunmetal wand handle with a gunmetal tube. The wand as long plastic bristles with a spiked ball at the end of it. This ball utilises the end of the mascara wand and reaches into the smaller lashes in the inner corner of the eye.
Smell:
Just the usual mascara smell.
Colour:
Black. Opaque pigmentation.
Formula/ Texture:
This is more of a wet mascara but with a really thin scraper that doesn't leave any clumps of mascara on the wand. It's a thinner wand which made applying it easy. I wasn't going through my lashes trying to separate my lashes and then add volume then back to separating a clump. Theres no flaking or transferring. It's is easily removed with makeup wipes.
I have average length lashes that have a very slight natural curl to them, so I want a mascara that does it all- volume, length and curl. I always curl my lashes before mascara application too. The only claims that I've heard and read about this mascara is that it give the same effect as false lashes, the trifecta, causing people to say that their lashes "are real". I'm not sure when these all these percentages and claims cause it's such a hard thing to measure. I gotta say this mascara though makes my lashes look amazing!!
There is a noticeable hold in the curl, volume and length. I would say the volume has doubled from my natural lashes. My lashes don't feel crisp or hard in any way. The way my lashes are volumised reminds me a lot of the Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion mascara.
I have been loving this and think it's defiantly a better mascara than Benefit's Bad Gal and quickly has become one of my favourite mascaras. It is a little on the pricey side but worth it. If you have naturally long or curled lashes I think you'll appreciate the volume it can give you. The same goes for very short and sparse lashes and you also appreciate the length.
