Covergirl Trublend Pressed Powder

Image
Packaging: Slim round plastic compact with a clear standard snap shut lid and grey/ silver bottom. The reverse of the lid contains a small mirror but is tall enough to fit the separately enclosed sponge which would be awesome for travel. The lid has enough resistance on it that it doesn't just swing open and stays where you leave it. Smell: None. Colour: #1 Translucent - white based beige with yellow undertones. Pigmented for a 'translucent' shade and a matte finish. Great for light skin tones. Available in 3 shades. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin and little chalky feeling but has that velvet element to it. The initial layer is quite stiff. It doesn't cake up with a few layers of dusting but will after numerous layers. There is no fallout, settling into fine lines such as those around the mouth or emphasis on large pores. I do find it adds a touch of colour but adding multiple layers to get better opaqueness is where the canines fac...

Too Faced Hangover Primer

Image
Packaging: Long squeeze tube with a white pump. The tube has a soft gradient baby pink with touches of gold and black. The "cap" or casing for the pump is quite long and looks un useful and a waste upon initial impressions until it's realised this is actually a pump. The pump motion flows smoothly with no problems and dispenses a small amount of product that is the perfect size. This is probably the most ingenious primer packaging I've seen. It's got the look of a squeeze tube but with the convenience of a pump. No heavy bottle, travel friendly and it's pink. I do anticipate that this will need to be sorted upright towards the end of the tube so the product sits in the pump or  the tube cut be cut open to get every last amount. Smell: Coconut. Colour: White but blends out clear. Formula/ Texture: This is a thin lotion with a fresh and cooling effect on contact with skin. It is easily to apply and extremely fast absorbing. It...

Too Faced Melted Lipsticks Summer 2015 Shades

Image
In addition to the existing line, Too Faced released 6 or so more to their permanent line as part of their summer collection and there was a few that I picked up. Firstly on the left is Melted Strawberry. This is your standard hot pink or as I like to think of it - Barbie pink. Defiantly none of this fuchsia neon tone but a step down from that. It would be perfect for those who want to wear a more bolder pink colour but are building their confidence. Finally on the right is Melted Marshmallow. That name just gives images of fluffy things like bunnies, clouds, soft material and pastel shades. This colour is more of a cool undertoned soft pink. It's going to add more of a 'pink' to the lips whilst still looking natural. Melted Peony is more mauvey with netural undertones. I know this was just two shades but I build my collection slowly and a few more like Melon are calling my name. I always find lip products the most difficult product to gage what shad...

Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 Foundation

Image
Packaging: Oval glass bottle with a blue pump and clear plastic cap. The bottle fits comfortably in my hand, the pump feels more chunky then needed. Otherwise it pumps smoothly. Smell: None. Colour: #810 Classic Ivory - light beige with yellow undertones. Medium to full coverage and a satin finish. Available in 6 shades which isn't the widest. Formula/ Texture: This is a thicker liquid. Not saying it's as thick as the Revlon Colorstay Foundation but it's defiantly a lot easier to work and blend out. I find either my fingers or a Beauty Blender gives a more flawless finish with a brush providing a streakier finish if the time isn't taken to blend it in properly. This is marketed as a foundation that has the combination of 3 products in one. I've tried this numerous combinations with the same result - I love this!! 1 Primer: It has enough slip in it to act as a moisture barrier like a primer would do but doesn't break me out....
