Revlon Colorburst Lipstick
I’ve been wanting a nude lipstick for a while. I’ve listen to and heard lots of high raves for MAC’s Creme de Nude but at $35 a stick I can’t quite commit just yet. So I started researching the colour ranges at the drugstores for something more affordable for my first lipstick.
When Revlon first came out with their colorburst lipline I didn’t really take any notice until I looked at their colour range and had my eyes set on Soft Nude (070). It looked like a nice pink undertoned nude that would look awesome on my lips. As of today they've seemed to have renamed the colour to Soft Suede.

Packaging:
It's a hard plastic black square tube with the quilt/ crisscross pattern and engraved Revlon on the lipstick bullet. The shade name and number is on the bottom of the tube. The packing is very elegant and Channel-esque which isn't the typical cheap looking product which is awesome. It's pretty durable and can handle being chucked around.
Smell:
None.
Colour:
070 Soft Nude - light beige with warm undertones. Opaque pigmentation with a matte finish. Colour looks so yellow and orangey which would compliment those who have a warm undertone to their skin. Available in 14 shades.
*update 23 January 2011* it's the middle of summer here and I've had a chance to test this out in summer and Im glad to report that it works fine and looks fine too!! Doesn't look orange-y but just a nice creamish nude on the lips.

Texture/Formula:
It's a dry, thicker consistency and it wasn't as creamy as I was expecting. It's easy to apply and it does stay on the lips for 4 hours but not at the same intensity when first applied. It settles in the lip lines and is easily smudged.
Elasticolor is the major technology in this lipstick that provides a high-pigment colour release. Other than that it does feel lightweight on the lips but not as moisturising as I had anticipated from the moisturisers and anti-oxidants, including Sweet Almond Oil.

I used this up but I won't be repurchasing this shade or any other shade from the line as the formula is too drying for my liking. Yes there was a burst of colour with this lipstick but not enough of anything else to make it special.
Available:
From Priceline, pharmacies and discount department stores for $26.
